Beauty Tuesdays: A FALL HAUL!

On Friday Sarah & I headed to Nanaimo to do a bit of retail therapy. I know, I know. Wasn't it just last week (again) that I was in Nanaimo? You see, this whole unemployment thing leaves me with a lot of time on my hands, and I also had some more Bath & Body Work coupons on my hands to use up. They were having a two day sale Friday/Saturday this past weekend, so I got a few more goodies in yummy fall scents to use up. I think I'm stocked now for the rest of the fall, but at the rate I burn through their candles, maybe not so much.

Anyway, I ended up saving quite a bit of money thanks to my thrifty shopping senses.

From Bath & Body Works:

Pumpkin Carrot Cake 3-Wick Candle
Sweater Weather 3-Wick Candle (note to the ladies: this smells the way a delicious chiseled man smells. Is that weird? That's weird...)
Nail file
Vermont Honey Apple Lotion
Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin Lotion
Aspen Caramel Woods Lotion

And I was debating whether I wanted to purchase my Celestial moisturizer again, but I figured since I was already there and rather than buying something from the drugstore, why not?

Note: Let the Good Times Roll Facial Cleanser smells like Snickerdoodle cookie dough, I swear. I want to eat it! However, instead of devouring it I rub it on my face. I don't suggest doing that with actual cookie dough ;) I also received a sample of another cleanser that is safe to rub right on the eyes to remove any make up. This is a bonus for me, because often times I'll go to bed without removing my mascara and wake up looking like a raccoon. Girl problems, right?

Sunday: 8 miles with 4 x .400mile hill repeats: The thing with this run is rather than doing several smaller hills, I opted for four bigger ones. This was a wise idea after strength training on Saturday (nawt). My calves are still sore.

Monday: Rest day. Oh, wait. I did 20 push ups. Biceps, where are you? Legs were still stiff from Sunday's hills but feeling a lot better since I kept moving.

Today: Not sure yet! Maybe some cross training or a 5k run. We will see where the day takes me!

I am actually enjoying this taper right now. Over the weekend my brain was working overtime thinking about random stuff, but now I just want to hang out, relax, and let my legs recover for the race on Sunday. No hard runs this week, no big hills, no crazy speed sessions. Simply running to keep my legs happy and maybe some pick ups here and there so they don't forget what turning over quickly is.

What did you do this past weekend?

Anyone racing this weekend?

  1. I'm in taper mode now, and I'm actually really enjoying it! I missed the taper for my last half because I was hurt the whole time, but it's nice to relax a little!
