100 Miles, Fluoride for Fuel & Mini Goals

Remember how I said I had something like 24 miles until I hit 100 for the month? Well, I ran 8 this morning (after thinking I'd just do six & make up the rest tomorrow and Saturday.. NOPE!), and walked 2.5 later on in the day. Since I am also logging my walking mileage, it is part of my goal of 100. However, if I do go over 100 by Saturday (seriously, we'll have to see about this one) because of some extra running miles, I won't complain!

I woke up at 6AM this morning even though it was my day off. My sole purpose of this early rising was because my alarm was literally blaring in my ear (I sleep with my phone under my pillow. Don't judge me). Oh, and I wanted to be up and running by at least 6:15, 6:20 at the latest. I ate half a banana while I was finding the perfect TV channel to zone out to. Note: This is almost always the MuchMusic Count Down, where they play that goddamn Marianas Trench song "Fall out" ALL THE TIME. I have developed a good amount of hate for this song from all the over playing. Anyway, back to what I was saying. I hopped on the treadmill and completed 8 miles. I also took one of these bad boys once I hit the 50 minute mark:

You know when you go to the dentist and you pick out the flavor of fluoride you'd like? I always chose creamsicle or strawberry banana. Anything fruity. Well, the after taste of this gel tasted exactly like those fun, flavorful dentist visits. Don't get me wrong; it tasted pretty good. However, it was quite sweet & the consistency was quite thin. It reminded me of a serum you'd put on your face. Just sayin'. Anyway, I would try this again (considering I have another gel of the same kind, I will try it again), and I am interested in the other flavors the PowerBar company has to offer.

Current favourite power gel: This vanilla beauty

This is what my workout(s?) looked like today:

I am now 16 miles away from my goal of 100 miles for the month of March. I love setting little mini goals. However, if I accomplish this one (or rather, WHEN), that means I'll be setting the bar higher for next month! Yikes!

Where I am going right now:
- 100 total miles on Saturday
- Vancouver Sun Run 10K, April 15
- BMO Vancouver Half Marathon, May 6

And to the grocery store soon. My vegetable supply is awfully pitiful right now! Oh, the horror.
