I was going to run 3 miles today to get an extra run in before the Sun Run 10K tomorrow, but... As Spongebob says, "Nah, I don't really feel like it." So, I just ate some oatmeal, drank coffee & browsed my favourite blogs (as per every morning of my life. I'm so fun).
Back to that oatmeal..
1/2 cup oats, 1 scoop chocolate protein powder (I use a soy protein. Yeah, yeah, soy is controversial, but it's not a HUGE part of my diet & I don't have it every single day/multiple times a day), 1 tsp. cocoa powder, 1 tbsp. sunflower seeds, some raisins, 1/2 banana, then topped with more raisins/banana/almonds and cooked with almond milk & water.
And coffee x 2. And then a half cup of coffee after Brandon left for work (and the reason why I'm still up writing this post when I should be in bed). I can't get enough of coffee. If only I could drink 3L of it every day like I do water. That wouldn't be excessive or bad at all, would it? Wishful thinking.
Let's talk about food.
Anyone else feel me on this one? Luckily I don't turn to horrible things when I'm hungry. For the most part my apartment is stocked with healthy eats such as nuts, tons of fruit & even more veggies. Speaking of, I need to get more tomorrow! However, I broke down and bought a bag of 5cent candies on my walk home from work today. Sometimes you just have to give into that sweet tooth!
My carb tooth was also knockin' when I came home. I had a simple bowl of whole wheat pasta with spinach and marinara sauce. Nothin' fancy, but those carbs will be ready to be burned off tomorrow - right with the toast/pb/banana I'll have in the morning (my usual race-day breakfast).
Are you a healthy snacker? Or do you tend to crave sweet/salty/fried foods?
